 I think Apple has finally done it. I think they may have finally created a computer I would actually consider buying. Behold, the Mac Mini.
Most of the products they've produced thus far have appealed to me in some fashion, but with the price tag they end up slapping on them, it never seems like they're actually trying to accomplish ubiquity like Microsoft has. Rather it seems they are striving to create niche products that douche bags with ponytails and VW Beatles want to own strictly for the purpose of conspicuous consumption. I mean, do iPods really do that much more than other mp3 players? Fuck no.
But I digress. The Mac Mini. Now, it's not beefy by today's standards, but it's a nice little machine, comes with MacOS X, and for a paltry $500, it's probably the cheapest mac to date. Now, it's not that I want it because it has some feature that will turn the industry on its ear. It's not that I want it because it looks so damned cool. It's not that I want it so people I know will see it and instantly know that I am part of the douche bag design elite. I want it because MacOS X is a solid, well performing, stunningly beautiful, unix based operating system and it's finally packaged on a machine I could buy without kicking myself in the nuts for spending an arm and a spleen on a machine that holds no more value than a $300 PC that I put together myself. It's an argument that I'm sure mac people are tired of hearing, but that doesn't make it any less true.
So there. I want to buy a Mac. Will I? Probably not, but the concession that I want to buy one should count for something on its own.

 I finally got a video card capable of playing today's graphically demanding titles -- and let me tell you, if the power of a video card were determined by the toughness of the anthropomorphic dog on its box, well then, I fucking win.
Oh, but it doesn't stop there, laddy. If you were brave enough to actually open the box and venture inside, you would be presented with this grave warning. Bone chilling, isn't it?
But once you've braved all the challenges and unleashed this silicon beast from it blister pack, and firmly chained it in the belly of your computational beast, lo! what rad graphics there are to behold!
On the less tongue-in-cheek side of things, Doom3 and Half Life 2 are more awesomer than you can ever know.

 I've added a couple knick-knacks to the site. First and foremost, I got tired of being paranoid about posting too much (concerning fresh posts being schluffed off the front page before anyone got to see it because it only shows two at a time), so I rewired the system a bit. The way it works now is it will always show the last two posts but along with any other posts that have been posted in the last three days. So, if I post once 6 times in two days, all six will show up, but if I only post once in a month, the latest two will always be displayed -- confusing, but you probably won't even notice it unless it's helping you see more content.
I suppose I could have just made it display more posts but I think this pages layout works the best aesthetically with a shorter length.
The second change is probably a welcome one. I've added "preview" functionality to the per post and peanut gallery commenting. This should stop the annoying broken hyperlinks and images. Should stop them, but it probably won't because the people that fuck that kind of stuff up probably aren't the same kind of people that would hit a preview button. Anyway, be sure to test it out for me and drop me some feedback if you notice any bugs.

 If you've been visiting my site for a while then you've probably been told a million times, by me, to use Firefox for your web browser. If you haven't switched yet, you're a retard, please leave my site.
Anyway, I wanted to outline a few extensions for Firefox that I label "Must Haves," but first things first. Firefox is going to stop you from installing packages from sites that aren't on your "trusted" list. Just add them when prompted. Infact, be sure to add "mozdev.org" so that it won't bug you about anything coming from mozdev.
-Dictionary Search (install) - This allows you to highlight words and lookup their definition from the right click menu. Probably doesn't excite everyone, but I couldn't live without it.
-Bug Me Not (install) - This will allow you to bypass free registration sites (like Fileplanet, New York Times, etc) by automatically retrieving an exisiting name and password somebody has already created for this site when you choose "bugmenot" from your right click menu while mousing over the login forms.
-Web Developer (install) - This extention adds another toolbar to the top of Firefox which contains a plethora of extremely usefull tools used in writting, testing, and debugging webpages. Table outline, markup validation, form contents, site cookies, etc. Probably won't appeal to many of you.
Another really cool bit of funtionality is something Jason taught me a couple month ago, keywords. I'll explain this by showing you how to create a Wikipedia keyword:
First, visit Wikipedia and do a search for a string of gibberish that you know won't return a result. like "blargityblag"
On the page where it tells you it can't find anything, copy the contents of the address bar ("http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=blargityblag&fulltext=Search") onto your clipboard
Click on the "Bookmarks" dropdown menu, and select "Manage Bookemarks"
Click the "New Bookmark" button and give it the name "Wikipedia Keyword"
For the URL, enter the copied addressbar contents, except replace "blargityblag" with "%s"
In the Keyword field, type "wiki"
Save it (you may want to move it into a bookmark folder named Keywords or something to get it out of the way, you'll never be clicking it anyway).
Now, if you ever want to search Wikipedia for something, you can just type "wiki ThingIWantToSearchFor" and it will bring you straight to the results of that search on Wikipedia.

 That's right bitches, I've joined the revolution. Gmail is mine at last. For those of you who thought you could swoop on in and claim the almighty glitch13 gmail address, as you haughtily laugh and ride off, kicking up dust and pebbles in your wake, you will now rue the day you ever planned to do that stuff I just said.
So, how does life feel post gmail address acquisition? Hrm, well, the air does smell a little sweeter, and I do feel like I have the strength of an ox, albeit an ox with four broken legs, currently strapped to a yoke digging rows in a cornfield, but an ox none the less.
So, what will I do with this new found glory, you ask? Well, I will hold gmail invites over your heads and watch you squirm and buck as you try to differentiate yourself from the crowd and look deserving of my invites. Of course, I don't have any invites to give out as of yet, but trust me, when I get them, that squirming/bucking thing will definitely be on. Bitches.
